Presenting for the first time in Australia, the final shows of Leo Lins’ White Plague tour promise to be memorable. After recording his third comedy special Disturbing for an audience of over 3,000 people, Leo is now on tour with his show White Plague.
In a world that seems to have entered a revamped Dark Age, where cancellation is equated with the stake, and cancelers act as inquisitors in the name of good, comedians are often seen as witches to be burned. If humor is considered a disease, then Leo Lins is the White Plague.
“To make people laugh with delicate themes is like spitting fire: when done by a professional, it’s an art, otherwise, someone will get burned”, explains the humorist.
In his stand-up special, Leo uses his acidic humor to corrode the layer of hypocrisy on topics such as representation, neutral language, and conservatism, as well as poking fun at the lawsuits he has faced throughout his career.
“Comedy is not a disease. It is a symptom of a sick society.”
